Windows 7 Discussion

As most of you know, Windows 7 is finished and is now in "RTM" builds (Release To Manufacturers) Which means as of now it is just a few months until the retail release of the os.

Microsoft said the Os should be released sometime around the holiday shopping season, and later corrected it for October 22nd 2009. However I think the final build will be leaked as early as august/september 2009.

I am currently running build 7201 (RTM leaked)

Windows 7 is Ok... its just Vista but finished LOL.. nah I dunno I would get technical but, I don't have the effort in me really. Isn't the Windows Server 7 RC newer than your version? I've only really ran it in VirtualBox as a virtual machine tbh but, nonetheless it does seem pretty smooth.

The Green Bastard 06-05-2009 07:29 PM

7 and 7 retail are at the same build, the build that I have won't be released to the public until late July/early August. And then Final October 22nd :D

Actually, Windows 7 was written from scratch. Any elements which were in Vista are purely incidental, or useful ofcourse. Quite a good decision to make, as they hadn't done anything like that since NT.

Really! :O

Thats interesting. So Microsoft aren't being lazy on 7 :D

Hrmm so hopefully 7 will be less vulnerable.

They aren't being lazy, but it was not built from scratch as one of the members above mentioned. It was a build on from Vista, Vista's Kernel = 6.0.6001
7's kernel = 6.1.7201 :a25::a28:

The Green Bastard 06-08-2009 04:43 PM

You can add me on MSN and I can send you the private torrent file if you want, it downloaded very fast at 400-600 KB/s

Also, if you want, I can make a "How to install Windows 7" tutorial if you like.

Saku Maruyama 06-12-2009 09:30 AM

Windows 7 is good stuff over vista IMHO. Definitely getting a retail version when it comes out

Fallen 06-12-2009 09:45 AM

and whats ur msn

The Green Bastard 06-12-2009 11:04 AM

My MSN is [email protected]

I don't care who adds me. :P

Also I will buy a retail copy of Win7 when it comes out. Might as well support the company, for something so awesome :D

dwegiel 06-12-2009 01:17 PM

Can you send me a PM with the link to the torrent? Right now, I'm running build 7100. It actually runs faster than XP and used up less memory 0.0 BTW, this computer was with preinstalled Vista Basic, and it ran like shit. Took up all 256 MB of my memory. Windows 7 is about the best product from Microsoft, right after the XBOX 360. :)

The Green Bastard 06-12-2009 02:02 PM

I will pm you with the torrent later on. right now I'm doing a lot, and have some friends here getting my drink on.

So Windows 7 must be terrible too.
I feel so sorry for you and your 360.

I'll cheer you up and post some pics of working 360's. Oh wait. Shit.

The Green Bastard 06-13-2009 02:59 PM

This is the best product since forever. <3

kelpwoud 06-13-2009 11:36 PM

Thats a matter of opinion and how can it be.. its not actually finished yet lol! For all we know the last official version could be full of holes and alterations... Knowing microsoft, they could add a shit load of noob proofing etc. I wouldn't start becoming a Windows 7 fanboy just yet mate.

Fallen 06-14-2009 03:13 PM

You could use Sun xVM VirtualBox Just google "virutalbox"

Then mount the .iso on the virutal box.

Or he could just use Windows 7 as his primary OS. Either way it's better than whatever he has already. (XP, Vista)
