Maybe there is a firewall or some restriction problems, or it may be due to an internal problem, if you cannot fix it yourself I suggest you get some professional help, perhaps Geek Squad. Or if you have one the warranty. Maybe I can help talk to me on MSN.

Try though a proxy, if it works through a proxy, you know it's a firewall. Then all you have to do is disable it.

try with and without www.

First of all, Try the site with www.hidmyass.com - If it works with it - As someone said : It's Your Firewall.

Maybe you got some spywarisch program which changed you're 'host-file'.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc and then you'll see a file called 'host' with no extension. Now open it in notepad and paste it here in a [/code]

Okay Java.com works through a proxy. I killed my firewall but it still does not work without a proxy ;S

Please post ur host file here...

Siyico1 09-21-2008 12:09 PM

Code:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97    rhino.acme.com          # source server
#      38.25.63.10    x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1      localhost

Ok, first, go to Start < Run < ipconfig /flushdns

if this didn't help, then download the newest Java version from:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

If this didn't help, Open Internet Explorer Go To Tools < Internet Options < Connections < Lan Settings and make sure that your settings are like these:
http://www.madasafish.com/images/sup...ettings_b3.jpg

If this didn't help - You'll need to download SpyBot S&D and start a scan.
You'll have Spyware Probs.

If none of these helped - Post here.
